DACOTRANS de Centroamerica started in Costa Rica in 1970 as a branch office of DACOTRANS GmbH. For many years its legal representative in Costa Rica was Alfredo Alvarado.
In 1987, DACOTRANS GmbH sent a Commercial Delegate, Rainer Anders, to support operations in Costa Rica. Back then, DACOTRANS had less than 5 employees and only operated ocean transport between Hamburg and Limon.
Under Rainer Anders' leadership, DACOTRANS expanded its services to other locations in Costa Rica and elsewhere in Central America.
To provide DACOTRANS's clients with a complete service, the company diversified them over the years, until it covered the whole line of services that they do now and that enables them to offer a real door to door cargo delivery service. DACOTRANS has become an expert in transport logistics to and from Costa Rica.
The most recent addition to the DACOTRANS family is Tika Line Services. This company allows DACOTRANS absolute independence in customs clearance.
